Goodbye 2010

I'd like to say good riddance. But it wasn't the year's fault. All in all, it was an extremely educational year. I know more. I've let go of more.

I've found more.

Goodbye to depression. Junk food. Ice cream. Sugar. And, oh dear lord, goodbye to Coca-Cola and all its relatives.

Goodbye lethargy. Goodbye lack of motivation. Goodbye wallowing. Goodbye fatigue. Goodbye to sleeping nine-ten hours a day.

Goodbye slouchy chair. Goodbye having no money. Goodbye doing without.

Goodbye to feeling awful. Finally.

So in these last few minutes of 2010's lifebreath, I raise my glass.

I toast you 2010.

Here's to the year that launched my writing career, brought me many new friends, gave me back the home I never thought I wanted, and the family I didn't think I had.

Thank you 2010.

For reunions. For sister cousins. For coming home. And for bringing my brother home.

Thank you for unveiling my voice.

And now, five minutes before midnight, I bid you adieu. And will see you, on the morrow, in 2011.

Happy New Year, Olivia J. Herrell

My precious friend how great it has been to know you this year, weaving in and out of my life and teaching me so much. Love your goodbyes especially to the slouchy chair and the COKE products and all their families, I say goodbye too! Water and Walking will be my Matra for 2011.
Happy New Year and many blessings through the 2011.

No! Don't give up junk food. I usually have all the fast food fine dining establishment wrappers represented in my car. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to glance to the back seat and see a montage of where I've been in 2010. I'm doing good, there are no beer cans in the back seat.

It has been a busy year. Hope all finds you well for 2011.

I'll drink to that! And not a Coke product (though I'm not going to totally, absolutely give that up).
Here's looking forward to a great 2011 for all of us.

Tessa, may 2011 be the year of years for you as well. I look forward to getting to know you much better this year!

Kimber, yes we will. Together. Collectively. I love that we have this arena for growth and that we each rise a little higher when we are vulnerable and help our fellow bloggers.

Already the energy feels lighter. I hope that you are all experiencing the fabulous loving energy that 2011 has ushered in.

Well I know I am a bit late with this but I loved this post and your positiveness for the new year. Keep climbing. I too have bid a big adieu to The Dep as I call it. After two years of learning and climbing and stubbing my toe I can feel the sunshine at long last. I hope the same for you through creativity and faith.
