Notes from the Universe and More Friday Finds

Do you ever feel like your ship is never coming in? This was yesterday's Note from the Universe. I receive these uplifting missives every weekday. You can, too. Just go to and register.

"You know those people, Olivia, you sometimes feel you're waiting for? I mean new friends and connections, agents and directors, customers and clients, publishers and producers, dear hearts and darlings. Well, they're actually just waiting for you... to make some serious room for them in your life.

Do stuff, Olivia, little stuff, lots of stuff, prepare the way... and don't even think of stopping until you're dining with them at The Ritz.

"Room Service? Hi. It's me again, Olivia Herrell. That's right, in the Penthouse Suite. If you wouldn't mind, could we please have another round of desserts, some more wood on the fire, and, uh, some new springs for the trampoline?"

Is your name holding you back, maybe even keeping you from being published? My friend, Karen Mead, shared this link on Facebook.

There is a fabulous celebration of friendship and publishing success going on over at Elliot Grace's blog. What an inspiring and inventive way to acknowledge his landmark 100 followers AND his debut novel, South of Charm, coming our way in 2011.

There is a lot of blog love (link love as my friend, Postman, calls it) going around the blogverse these days. Another friend shared this awesome vid on FB (I'm so sorry, I forgot who!) and I HAD to share. This is dedicated to all of my friends.

Last, but not least, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY, to my nephew, Joshua Herrell, who is stationed in South Korea.

Amanda, his wife, keeps us informed on Facebook and via her blog.

I wanted to share a pic of Josh standing (in uniform) on the North Korean border. She'd posted it a few days ago to FB. Alas, she's taken it down.

So instead, here's a shot of him on vacation with his family in Guam.

Love you, Josh!

AHA! Found that picture. I had shared it on MY Facebook page. It's still there so I'll share it with you. Josh with North Korea behind him:

I love you, Josh!

Stay safe.

We're sending thoughts of love and light, peace and joy your way.

~Aunt Olivia

Hey Coreen, good to see you! Have a great weekend!

Yvonne, I've been thinking of you, how are you?? Hope your weekend is beautiful and bright.

Sandra, hey! I figured if he had it as a Facebook profile pic I could lift it for here, lol. You're probably right, though. I actually found that other pic later. Maybe I should go back and replace it. :)

I'm going to go check out the notes from the universe....

And I agree about Elliot's very creative celebration. How cool! We all got to go hang out together. I must have had too much to drink because the whole thing is quite fuzzy now....;P

I will keep your nephew in my prayers...and I'd love to be at the beach right now.

Hope your weekend is treating you exceptionally well

Thanks for the beautiful video, Olivia.

I called down for Room Service today. All I got was an echo. Good news : no calories to echoes.

Have a better week, Roland

Notes from the Universe are amazing! It gets creepy sometimes when it says exactly what has just happened. I got a note saying 'congratulations on your new job' when I just got one from two days ago! They are so uplifting, too. Love it.

People forget the Korean DMZ is still a dangerous place. My thoughts go out to Joshua hoping for a safe tour of duty.

Olivia J. Herrell, writing as O.J. Barré said...

Alex, I had totally forgotten. But I snuck it in! Thanks for the reminder.

Len, I know what you mean about the Notes. This has been an especially difficult week for me and the Notes are long missives of hope. Thanks Universe! And thank you, Len for stopping by. Welcome!

Wally, hi there, I've missed you. I'm almost done with your first book, Feeling Lucky. I'm sorry I've taken so long, I'm such a slacker these days!

Thank you for sending good thoughts for Joshua. Every now and then it sinks in, again, that he is not just in a foreign country, he's in a DMZ. And things are tense and North Korea is so close. His family is with him. I'm glad they're together but I miss those boys. And 'my' little boy. Thanks for the reminder.

I hope you enjoyed my first America's Galactic Foreign Legion book. AGFL-4 "DMZ" is due out any day, and was inspired about events along the Korean DMZ people have not heard about or have forgot. Of course, I put a humorous spin on the situation.

I have been on vacation to Reno, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Brice Canyon, Idnian ruins, Last Lake City, Jockpot, Pendleton, and a lot of undeveloped hot springs in between.

I say a sign at a roadside restaurant advertising "Ho-made_ pies. Haveing a sweet tooth, of course I slammed on the breaks and stopped to investigate. The delicious pies were edited into AGFL Book 5. Hey, I find good ideas everywhere.

I DID. I am. I'm not quite done yet. #4 sounds intriguing. Your vacation sounds wonderful. Gotta love a ho made pie!

Jockpot? Really??
