Or in the girl with the faraway eyes.
My writing sanctuary in the living room has kicked me out. I've been sent to my bedroom. There the words come. Clumsy, I will admit. I read what I wrote yesterday and it needs work. But I'm proud of every single shiny word.
Business is done for the day. Dinner is on the stove. Soon my belly will be full and I'll shuffle off to the rocker recliner in the bedroom. With my laptop. And my Florida notes.

I'm glad your friend got unstuck. I can't imagine writing all of a book in pen and paper.
As long as the words are coming, that's all that matters. For about ten minutes today, I got to write. Clumsily. But I did it. Maybe tomorrow it will be at least an hour's worth.
I think I need a writing chair....

Walking often helps me get unstuk, but only if I don't think about the problem. My subconscious has to do all the work :)
Ah how often I have been kicked out of the living room. The doorbell rings, son's friends are over, party begins, I go upstairs. A million thanks to whoever invented the laptop.
I read Mary's post. I'm glad she's unstuck. I think it's so important to keep looking for ways until you find it.

Words Crafter, clumsily is good. Tonight I had to force myself to sit here. But when I did, the words came. And it's not half bad. Of course I may think different tomorrow. But isn't it marvelous there will be a tomorrow to come back to.
I found the chair I'm in now at a thrift store for $20. No lie. I draped a red throw over it and voila, 'new' chair. Happy chair hunting if you do decide to go. :)
Mary, you're amazing. I bet your finger did lock and I can just imagine getting the giggles (and guns) in the middle of the night whilst writing. I'm so happy you're unstuck. And that I am, too. It's a big ahhhh.

Ernest Hemingway advised writing one sentence that you knew was bedrock true whether it had anything to do with your story or not.
Then write another. Then another bottomline true sentence or truth.
When you filled a page with those, read them all. They will spark something essential and new for you to write in your story or novel, for you have tapped the unconscious mind.

Your post came at a coincidental time. I had just finished reading some poetry I had written in my younger days as I was trying to remember some things for my post tomorrow. The Stones video really helped the memories flow.

Jules, Blogger can be a tricky bloke sometimes. I'm still very, very grateful for it, though.
I don't think you're doing anything wrong at all. Roland is talking about using it as a way to get unstuck. If you can write a sentence and get a story out of it, I'm guessing you're not stuck. And that's a good thing. :D
